Mayor Dondon Portugal of Taysan, Batangas pulled off another sweep in the second leg of the 2014 Philippine Grand Touring Car Championships Series held at Batangas Racing Circuit recently.
Portugal ruled both the Sprint and GT Main races in 18 minutes and 9.125 seconds while bucking the challenge of returning veteran Velli-Matti Kaikkonen who came in second, 7.457 seconds behind.
Celebrity racer Jomari Yllana placed third in the Sprint race but completed just three laps in the GT Main.
The GT200 race saw teammates Paolo Mantolino and defending champion Carlos Anton splitting honors.
In the GT150 division, Dindo de Jesus topped the Sprint race over first leg winner Joel Portugal and Allen Macaraig while Richmond de la Rosa emerged the GT150 champion in the Main race over Bong Perez and Antonio Rock Moncupa.
Rodney Caballero clinched the Open Pro crown in the PhilMiniracers Championship Series where Jun Mallari took the title in the Expert class, Kenneth Vincent Angala the Junior division plum and Anthony Al Cruz the Newbie crown.
