Azkals play for charity next week
MANILA, Philippines—The Philippine Azkals, gearing up for five important matches in 11 days early next month, vie in a three-team charity football tournament that will also feature leading United Football League clubs Global FC and Kaya FC on September 19 to 24 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Dubbed the “I Can Serve Invitational,” the tournament will serve as a warmup for the Azkals, who will play Hong Kong on September 30 and Chinese Taipei, Macau, Singapore and Nepal next month.
But organizers also hope that the event will be remembered more for the cause it will promote.
