CEU cagers, RTU tossers stay clean

MANILA, Philippines—Centro Escolar University dealt fellow semifinalist Emilio Aguinaldo College its first loss, 77-52, to keep its unbeaten streak in the 42nd WNCAA senior basketball tournament at the St. Scholastica gym over the weekend.

CEU how holds a 6-0 slate while EAC fell to 5-1.

Miriam College then notched its third straight victory with a 62-56 decision over University of Asia and the Pacific, leveling its record to 3-3, just half a game behind its victim’s 3-2 card.

In other matches, Philippine Women’s University whipped San Beda College Alabang, 61-43, and host Rizal Technological University dumped St. Scholastica’s College, 56-36.

RTU also improved to 6-0 in senior volleyball with a 25-13, 25-13, 25-20 win over San Beda which dropped to second spot at 5-1 in a tie with Miriam. Miriam beat PWU, 25-19, 24-26, 25-21, 15-25, 18-16.

Also posting a 6-0 mark is defending midgets volleyball champion De La Salle Zobel, a 25-8, 22-25, 25-16 winner over San Beda.
