UP coach Rey Madrid slapped 2-game suspension for point-shaving claims
MANILA, Philippines—UAAP commissioner Andy Jao on Tuesday suspended University of the Philippines head coach Rey Madrid for two games after his point-shaving claims in a blowout loss to University of Santo Tomas last Saturday.
Madrid blasted the officiating by accusing the referees of point shaving after the Fighting Maroons lost to the Growling Tigers, 57-73, last Saturday.
Madrid will miss UP’s next couple of games against defending champion De La Salle this Wednesday and Adamson on Saturday.
