Manila softbelles absorb second consecutive loss
Team Manila absorbed its second straight defeat, dropping a 4-6 decision to defending champion Laurel-Delaware Wednesday in the 2014 Big League Softball World Series in Sussex County, Delaware.
The Filipinos wasted an early 4-0 lead as they dropped to a 1-win, 2-loss card, leaving them with a slim chance of reaching the semifinals of the prestigious tournament they won two years ago.
Opening the tournament with a 10-9 victory over Puerto Rico, the Manila softbelles failed to sustain their sharp form, losing to Milford, Delaware, 3-10, last Tuesday.
