Nicklaus Invt’l: Rosal-Allado settles for 2nd
Abe Rosal and Yuri Allado of the Philippines finished a fighting second to the South African pair of Jeanne Koegelenberg and Mark Roux in the eighth Jack Nicklaus International Invitational in Columbus, Ohio, recently.
Koegelenberg-Roux tallied a net score of 50.8 points from a gross of 54 after birdieing five of the final nine holes at Albany Country Club’s West and North courses.
The Filipinos had four birdies in the same stretch but a bogey in the third hole doomed their chances despite Rosal shooting the tournament’s first ace.

Rosal, a banker who also saw a lot of action for multititled Canlubang in the PAL Interclub, won a rare Jack Nicklaus memorabilia after holing his tee shot on the 151-yard fifth hole.
“The JNII experience was definitely one off the bucket list,” said Allado. “Meeting Jack Nicklaus and having VIP access to the Memorial tournament were the highlights of the trip.”
