MANILA, Philippines—Kiefer Ravena drained a game-sealing 3-pointer as Ateneo dealt another heartbreaking loss to University of the East with a 78-73 win in the UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament Wednesday at the Mall of Asia Arena.
Ravena finished with 16 points, highlighted by a triple from the top of the key, that clinched the game, 76-72, with 14.2 seconds left.
With the win, the Blue Eagles gained solo lead at 7-2 while the Red Warriors dropped to 4-5.
Chris Newsome led Ateneo in scoring with 23 points that went with six rebounds.
Charles Mammie notched a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds in a losing cause for UE.
