FORMER NBA All-Star Gilbert Arenas is returning to Manila for a charity basketball event that will also feature former NBA star Allen Iverson on Nov. 5 at Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
It will mark the second time in six years that Arenas, who starred for the Washington Wizards and was named to the NBA All Star team three times, is visiting the country.
The charity event, dubbed “All In” will benefit Gawad Kalinga.
Also expected to play in the game is former NBA player Eddie Curry.
A local selection composed of players from the NCAA, UAAP, and the PBA will battle the Ball Up Streetball All-Stars to be coached by Iverson.
“I’m excited to come back and see everyone in the Philippines,” said Arenas.
“It’s been six years, but I can still remember the warmth and love I received from my Filipino fans. I’m so honored and blessed to be a part of this event and help build homes for the poor.”
Organizer Sheryl Reyes welcomed Arenas’ addition to the roster of stars for the charity event.
“I’m very happy and thankful that Ball Up has helped tap Gilbert for this event and that he agreed to join us,” said Reyes.
Ticket prices for the charity event are at P6,500 (VIP), P5,500 (patron), P4,000 (lower box), P2,000 (upper box) and P600 (general admission). Cedelf P. Tupas
