MANILA, Philippines—Using a strong showing in the second half, the University of the East clobbered the already eliminated Adamson University, 72-59, in UAAP Season 77 men’s basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Trailing by one at the end of the first half, 33-34, the Warriors stepped on the pedal in the last two quarters to turn back the still winless Falcons. UE thus improved its chances to make the Final Four with its current 5-5 win-loss record. The Adamson dropped to 0-10.

UE’s Bong Galanza led all scorers with 20 points, while RR de Leon and import Charles Mammie chipped in 12 markers apiece. Don Trollano paced Adamson with his 18 points.
