Manny Pacquiao to open ‘boxing schools’ in China
MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boxing champion and Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao will open boxing schools in China in cooperation with its national government.
In a television interview, Pacquiao said that the school would be named the “Manny Pacquiao Boxing Education Institute” and its first campus would be opened in Beijing.
Pacquiao said that he would share his knowledge to Chinese boxers, adding that they need to be taught about the basics of the sport.
“Nakikita ko na marami silang boxers pero kailangan lang ng knowledge about boxing, and turuan ng basics. I think they can produce also champion boxers,” Pacquiao said.

When asked about the possibility of opening a “Manny Pacquiao Boxing Academy” in the country, Pacquiao said that what Filipino boxers needed was support.
“Wala naman tayong problema. Kailangan natin ng support to promote and help young boxers,” Pacquiao said.

The lawmaker also said that the move would foster cooperation between the Philippines and China.
