MANILA, Philippines — Ateneo leaned on a torrid second quarter attack to rout University of the Philippines, 84-68, and tightened its grip of the lead in the first Jumbo Plastic Linoleum Cup 2014 held over the weekend at Enderun Colleges gym in Taguig City.
Brix Ramos and Justin Eustaquio led Ateneo’s balanced attack as the Eaglets notched their fourth straight win in as many outings.
Ramos tallied four of his 13 points in the second frame as the Eaglets raced to a 46-33 halftime lead after outscoring the Junior Maroons, 19-12, in the second quarter.
Meantime, Fran Yu exploded for 29 points as multi-titled Chiang Kai Shek College rolled to its third straight win with a 104-68 drubbing of University of Perpetual Help College. The Adamson Baby Falcons trounced Hope Christian High School, 75-58.
