Batang Gilas beats Japan, finishes 5th in Fiba Asia U-18
MANILA, Philippines – Batang Gilas ended its Fiba Asia Under 18 Championships campaign with a fifth place finish after beating Japan, 113-105.
Down three points with eight seconds remaining, Japan’s lead scorer Akito Uchida, behind the free throw line, missed both shots, allowing Kobe Paras to rebound and pass to Radge Tongco, who took the game to overtime as he scored a three.

Tongco, who scored the shot that extended the game contributed 14 points, while Jose Go scored 24 points, with 5 three pointers out of nine attempts.
Japan’s Uchida, on the other hand, scored 36 points, while Shota Tsumaya made 34.
