DUCATI Superbike riders and the Manila Sports Car Club (MSCC) will take part in Globe Slipstream, a homecoming event for Filipino-Swiss race car driver Marlon Stockinger at Bonifacio Global City today.
The race teams of Ducati-Bacchus, Ducati-Access Plus, ATAT, Samson College-Access Plus and Kojie-San will parade its top riders, including 16-year-old TJ Alberto, Superbike Master riders Toti Alberto, John Defensor and Alvin Dee, Superbike Open riders Jussi Hoikka, Vince Mercado and Jordan Gaw, Lawrence Macalinao, Jay Carrion, Redge Burilla, Miguel Bichara, Richard Panlilio, Gerald Aycardo, Nikki Romero, Daniel Savino, Martin Rosario, Monti Mortimer and former Superbike champion Raniel Resuello.
Also with the Ducati group are celebrity racers Dingdong Dantes, Richard Gutierrez, Dominique Roque, former congressman Ronald Singson and Bullet Jalosjos.
Instead of bringing over the Lotus team’s F1 show cars, Globe Telecom, the exclusive business partner of Lotus F1 in the Philippines, decided to bring in Stockinger’s Lotus WSR Gravity Charouz Formula Renault 3.5—the car he actually uses—for a test drive around a customized BGC race track.
Ducati Superbike racers will likewise do a demonstration race in the 2.3-kilometer street circuit. There will also be a parade of vintage and luxury cars, karting challenge for celebrities and a speed challenge with partner merchants. George Lizares, Contributor
