MANILA, Philippines–Greece holds Gilas Pilipinas scoreless for close to four minutes in the first period and broke away from an 8-7 game to lead, 18-7.

Naturalized center Andray Blatche, favoring his right leg, scored four of those four points for the Filipinos before he was taken out with just over two minutes left in the quarter for a much-needed breather.

Jason Castro snapped the drought with a three-pointer with just over 40 seconds left as the Nationals trailed the Greeks, 20-10, after the first 10 minutes.
