From Boxing to baseball: Pacquiao throws first pitch in Dodgers-Nationals game

MANILA, Philippines — Filipino boxing champion and Sarangani Representative Manny Pacquiao threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles, California Monday night (Tuesday in Manila), according to Top Rank’s website.

Pacquiao said he was excited to throw the first pitch in the game between the LA Dodgers and the Washington Nationals.

Before the match, Pacquiao was given an honorary Dodgers shirt with Pacquiao’s name and the number eight printed on the back.

The lawmaker posted a picture on his official Facebook account where he was seen practicing throwing a baseball.

The Filipino boxing champion also threw the ceremonial first pitch at the San Francisco Giants versus. Milwaukee Brewers game Friday at the AT&T Park in San Francisco, California.

Pacquiao is currently in the US to promote his upcoming World Welterweight Championship fight with American boxer Chris Algieri in November.
