Blazers repulse Stags; Knights stop Generals
Mark Romero fired 25 points as the College of St. Benilde Blazers repulsed the San Sebastian Stags, 80-74, yesterday in the 90th NCAA men’s basketball tournament at Filoil Flying V Arena.
Romero drilled home five threes, including three in succession during a crucial surge late in the third that allowed the Blazers to finally gain control after falling behind by 17 points.
“I just took advantage when the flow of the game came to me,” said the 6-foot-3 Romero after the Blazers posted their eighth victory in 13 games.
