6 Gilas Pilipinas members back in PH

MANILA, Philippines – Some members of the Gilas Pilipinas basketball team arrived in the country on Saturday afternoon, a radio report said.
Junemar Fajardo, Jeffrei Chan, Paul Lee, Jason Castro, Gary David, Ranidel de Ocampo arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) past 5:00 p.m., the report said.
Article continues after this advertisementThey came from Seville, Spain where they participated and made history at the FIBA World Cup when they won against Senegal, the first time the country claimed a victory after 40 years.
Malacanang said that the Gilas’ “gallant fighting spirit, never say die attitude and playing from the heart deserved a heroes’ welcome.”
