MANILA, Philippines — Barangay Ginebra San Miguel lost to a hot-shooting Korean club LG Sakers, 75-81, in an exhibition game dubbed as “Asian Basketball Showdown” before a sizeable crowd at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Sakers, runners up in the recent season of the Korean Basketball League, bucked a slow start before banking on their outside shooting led by Ki Seung Ho and Kim Yong Hwan along with the solid inside presence by their import Chris Massie to put away the Kings late.

Philippine national team mainstays and Kings key cogs LA Tenorio and Japeth Aguilar, who just arrived in the country fresh off a stint in the Fiba World Cup in Spain, didn’t play.
