Eagle, Summit bets shine in Sta. Lucia Golf Tour opener
DAVAO—Eagle Ridge had two of its two-man teams dominating Group II for a one-stroke lead in team competition at the start of the Sta. Lucia Golf Tour at Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Residential Estates here.
Ireneo Arbues and Raymundo del Rosario combined for 91 points in the aggregate format then added a 50 in best ball for a two-day haul of 141 and the leg title in Group II.
Lindsey Salilig and Dante Felizarta made it a 1-2 finish in the same division when they wound up with 130 to lead Eagle Ridge’s 41 points in the club of the year race of the three-leg tour organized by real estate firm Sta. Lucia Land.
Article continues after this advertisementSummit Point was almost as outstanding with a runner up and a pair of second-runners up finishes to lurk behind with 40. Teddy Valenton and Leovigildo took the cudgels for the Batangas-based golfers in Group III after a 125 (72-53), good for second.
“It was a successful first leg. We hope to continue the trend in Cebu in two weeks,” said Vincent Santos, who with Jason Robles, chairs the 15th Sta. Lucia Golf Tour co-presented by PLDT, Royale Homes, Readycon, Marriot and OPMC.
