MANILA, Philippines — Undefeated boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr. revealed his plan to retire in September 2015.

In an ESPN report, Mayweather said he plans to end his boxing career after three more fights.

The 37-year old boxer is set to fight Marcos Maidana on Saturday and hopes to fight in May and September in 2015.

“I only got two more fights left (after Saturday) and after the next two fights I just want to build the Mayweather Promotions brand,” the report quoted Mayweather as saying, adding that he intends to remain involved in boxing as a promoter.

“My next fight is in May and my last fight is in September, so a year from now will be my last fight,” he said.

“As of right now, my focus is on Maidana. I can’t focus on the other two fights after that. I have to focus on Maidana. After that we can’t say who’s the next two are going to be but I’m pretty sure the next two will be exciting fights, he added.”

Mayweather dismissed rumors he was in negotiations to face WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao.

“Not true,” he said.

According to him it was nothing more than Top Rank promoter Bob Arum doing the publicity for Pacquiao’s pay-per-view bout with Chris Algieri November 22 this 2014 in Macau in China.

Mayweather has a 46-0 record including 26 knockouts.
