Double header kicks off NCBL caging Sept. 17

Technological University of the Philippines tests the mettle of league newcomer Enderun Colleges when the third season of the National Collegiate Basketball  League (NCBL) fires off with a double-header on Sept. 17 at the TIP gym in Manila.

The first game of the emerging college basketball league at 1:30 p.m. pits last year’s runner-up Trinity University of Asia Stallions against newcomer AIE College Lions of Angeles City.

The Lions, coached by Noah Delovieres, debuts as the first provincial team to join the league against the Stallions of mentor Junnel Mendiola.

The TIP Engineers of coach Potit de Vera battle the Enderun Titans of coach Topex Robinson at 3:30 p.m.

Also seeing action in the tournament are inaugural season champions Centro Escolar University Scorpions of coach Egay Macaraya and  Diliman Computer Technoloy Institute of mentor Rensy Bajar, another former PBA player.

The tournament champion will represent the league, supported by Hoop It Up, 351 sports apparel, and ZIC lubricants, in the 2014 Philippine Collegiate Championship League.
