NCA 6-stag derby tilt Sept. 16

THE NATIONAL Cockers Alliance (NCA) will stage the second leg of its 6-stag derby series on Tuesday at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig with Sagupaan Complexor as sponsor.

The derby, to be hosted by Pipo Soliman, Arnold Mendoza, E. Santos, Ruel Ricafort and Luding Boongaling, follows the series’ inaugural fights last Sept. 9.

Some of the country’s top cockers, including first-leg co-winners Elan Nagano (“Sanleo” entry) and Rene Medina (“Lucky Money”) are seeing action in Tuesday’s derby.

Nagano and Medina scored 5 points each to share the title, with Osang dela Cruz (“Goldquest Champion”) settling for second spot with 4.5.

“LB Candelaria” of Boongaling, “Binangonan Montalban” of former Rizal governor Ito Ynares and Mayor Eliong Hernandez, “Karambola” of Jose Chavez, “FaFaFa” of Femy Medina and Jun Arcilla, and “James and Albert” of Paul Teves had 4 points each.

The next NCA derby is scheduled on Sept. 23.
