AFTER an absence of three years, the Filipino-Indian Basketball League (FIBL) makes its comeback today, with 2010 champion Blue Sharks playing the Kings at 2 p.m. while the Warriors face the Gators at 4 p.m. at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig.
The four-team league was revived by FIBL founder and commissioner Dilip Budhrani in response to clamor from Filipino-Indians.
Gilas Pilipinas players Jimmy Alapag, LA Tenorio and Gabe Norwood have been invited to grace the opening ceremonies, along with PBA commissioner Chito Salud, India Ambassador to the Philippines Lalduhthlana Ralte and Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce president Ramesh Genomal.
