NCAA suspends basketball games for Monday
MANILA, Philippines—With Monday classes suspended in Metro Manila, including those in colleges and universities, the NCAA announced early morning Monday that all basketball games scheduled for the day will not take place.
In the NCAA official Twitter account, Paul Supan, chairman of the NCAA Management Committee and Jose Rizal University athletic director, said that after consultation with the basketball committee and ManCom members, it was decided upon to suspend the games.
Attempting to solidify its place in the top four, the College of St. Benilde Blazers (9-5) was set to take on seventh seed Mapua Cardinals for the first game at the San Juan Arena.
For the second game, the fifth seed University of Perpetual Help Altas (8-6) would have tried to subdue the 10th seed San Sebastian Golden Stags.
