MANILA, Philippines — The UAAP on Saturday has decided to push through with its scheduled basketball game despite the bad weather.

The league mulled the cancellation of the crucial tiff between University of ther East and National University due to heavy rains and flooding brought about by Tropical Storm Mario Friday.

But league secretary treasurer Rod Roque of host UE announced early Saturday morning that the game will go on as planned.

The Red Warriors and the Bulldogs dispute the last Final Four spot in the men’s basketball tournament later at 4pm at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Mario continues to drift away from the Philippine Area of Responsibility as it heads to Taiwan but has left a devastating scene in its wake.

The resurgent Warriors are on a five game-winning streak while the Bulldogs are coming off a loss to defending champion De La Salle last Saturday.

The playoff winner arranges a semifinals showdown with league-leading Ateneo, which owns a twice-to-beat advantage.
