APART from the Manny Pacquiao-Chris Algieri headliner, fight fans will be treated to two more world title duels on Nov. 23 at Cotai Arena of The Venetian Macao.
Included in the card, according to a Philboxing.com report, are Ukrainian Vasyl Lomachenko’s first defense of the World Boxing Organization featherweight crown against Thai Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo and American Jessie Vargas’ defense of the World Boxing Association super lightweight diadem against Mexican Antonio DeMarco.
In addition Chinese superstar Zou Shiming will be tangling with Thai Kwanpichit Onesongchaigym in a WBO flyweight title eliminator.
Like Zou, Lomachenko is a two-time Olympic champion, ruling the featherweight division in the 2008 Beijing Games and topping the lightweight division in the 2012 London edition.
DeMarco, a rugged former world champion who, like Pacquiao and Zou, is being trained by Freddie Roach.
Meanwhile, assistant trainer Buboy Fernandez opted to give Pacquiao a training break yesterday to allow the eight-division world champion’s body to fully recuperate from body pains caused by overexertion. Roy Luarca
