Eala bags twin Asian 14-Under tennis crowns
FILIPINO junior tennis star Michael Francis Eala captured the boys’ singles and doubles titles over the weekend in the Bengal Group Asian 14-under series in Bangladesh.
The 14-year-old Filipino junior star bested top seed Bahrain’s Ali Dewani, 6-3, 6-1, in the boys’ singles final at Ramna National Tennis Center then paired with Dewani to crush local pair Mohammed Hridoy Hasan and Saikat Shahriar, 6-1, 6-4, for the doubles crown.
Eala, the second seed, overwhelmed third seed Sadeen Hossain of Bangladesh, 6-0, 6-0, in the semifinals.
The other Eala victims were Farik Hossain of Bangladesh, 6-4, 6-0, and Faridur Reza also of Bangladesh, 6-0, 6-2. Marc Anthony Reyes
