MANILA, Philippines―Netizens took to Twitter to express their joy on the victory of fourth seed National University (NU) Bulldogs over the top seed Ateneo Blue Eagles, 65-63, barging into the Finals of the UAAP 77 men’s basketball tournament after 44 years Wednesday.
Congratulatory posts for the Bulldogs flooded Twitter although loyal Blue Eagle followers were not to be outdone as they expressed continued support for their team despite the heartbreaking loss.
Fans of the Bulldogs did not escape criticism after they were seen booing the Ateneo gallery.
The last time NU played in the finals was in 1970 when they lost to the University of the East Red Warriors.
