Watanabe targets another Superbikes crown

DEFENDING champion Dashi Watanabe, Masato Fernando and Tracy Soyangco will eye titles in their respective divisions when the  2014 Motorsports Championship season stages its sixth and final leg tomorrow at  Clark International Speedway in Pampanga.

The races are the culmination of the Pirelli Superbikes, FDR Philippine Scooter Racing and FDR Underbone King championship series.

Watanabe will go for a second straight Superbikes crown, Fernando is eyeing the overall and his fourth straight Scooters crown and Soyangco will go all out for the Underbone King title.

Equally exciting is the three-way battle among Clint Nolasco, Jevis Aguila and TJ Alberto in the Pirelli Motorad Superbikes Cup, a junior league for future Superbikes riders.

Toti Alberto, Charles Nolasco and John Defensor, meanwhile, will seek another 1-2-3 sweep for Team Ducati in the Superbikes Masters class while Aljon Valencia will target the overall 160cc PSR championship.  Steve Silva, Contributor
