Baltasar, Olaivar, Rivera pace Masters
Former national player Jonas Baltasar of TBAM-Prima practically scorched the lane yesterday with a 265-253-278 series for 796, to pace Group 1 in the 18th Sletba Open at the Sta. Lucia Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Nicco Olaivar of Pasig Bowling Association, who scored a perfect game during the opening day of the tournament on Saturday, is in second spot with 726, followed by national team stalwart Biboy Rivera, who also represents TBAM-Prima, with 719.
Article continues after this advertisementThree Sletba players are currently lording it over Group 2—Lito Santarinala with 875, Daboy Mendoza with 795, and Eric Umali with 778.
In Group 3, Nilo Penado and Elson Campita of PBA paced the pack with 864 and 851, respectively, followed by Sletba’s Charles Calamba with 801.
Santarinala showed the way in the Seniors category with 875, followed closely by Penado and Campita with 864 and 851, respectively,
Article continues after this advertisementIn the team events, the Sletba trio of Jimmy Uy, James Uy, and Susan San Diego valulted to the top with 1,465, while Olaivar and Penado showed the way in the doubles event.
Qualifying games are being held daily until Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. On Friday and Saturday, qualifying games will be held from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
