MANILA, Philippines—More netizens surveyed by INQUIRER.net believe that the National University Bulldogs will win their first UAAP men’s basketball title in almost six decades.

“Who do you think will win the UAAP Season 77 Men’s basketball Championship?” was the question asked in the informal survey.

From the 11,074 votes gathered as of Wednesday afternoon, a total of 4,664 votes or 42.12 percent believe that the Bulldogs will win the men’s title, while only 1,644 or 14.85 percent believe the Far Eastern University Tamaraws will edge out NU to win their first UAAP men’s basketball title since 2005.

The Tamaraws, however, have the advantage in the series after thwarting the Bulldogs, 75-70, in Game 1 of their Finals series on Saturday.

Although the De La Salle Green Archers got 3,424 votes or 30.92 percent and the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles got 1,342 or 12 percent, both teams have already been eliminated.

The poll was conducted from the start of the semifinals until Wednesday.

During the semis, the Bulldogs stunned the top-seeded Blue Eagles to secure a spot in the Finals, while the Tamaraws dethroned the Green Archers to nail the last title berth.

The Bulldogs and the Tamaraws face off at Game 2 of the Finals at 3:30 p.m. this Wednesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
