DEFENDING champion Technological Institute of the Philippines split its last two games to grab a share of the lead with Diliman College in the National Collegiate Basketball League (NCBL) at Trinity gym in Quezon City.
The TIP Engineers bowed to the Centro Escolar University Scorpions, 63-73, but rebounded with a 57-50 victory over the Enderun College Titans to share the lead with the DC Blue Dragons of coach Rensy Bajar at 4-1
The DC Blue Dragons blasted the Scorpions, 70-58, and followed it up with 104-44 triumph over AIE-College of Angeles City.
“We sorted out our internal problems after we lost to CEU and the boys regrouped to beat Enderun, ” said TIP coach Potit de Vera.
The game was tied at 45-all with four minutes left when the Engineers uncorked a 15-5 run en route to the win. Kimley Medina topscored for TIP with 17 points.
Trinity University occupies second spot with a 4-2 record.
