FIBL: Gators secure 4th straight win

VLADIMIR Singh scored 17 points to lead five other players in double figures as the Gators claimed their fourth straight victory with a 73-64 triumph over the Warriors in the Canadian Cup of the FIBL at Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig last Sunday.

The Gators, who opened the game with a 15-4 run, held the Warriors  to a 23-of-81 shooting and limited Warriors’ ace Mukesh Mohnani to a season-low 10 points.

Dinesh Chulani scored 14 points while playing excellent defense on Mohnani.  Sanjeev Gangwani continued his streak of 20 or more rebounds with 22 and 11 points. Dinesh Mohnani fired 11.

Lavesh Chandnani led the Warriors with 16 points, while Mike Saldanha added 10 and Parmdeep Brar grabbed 17 rebounds to go with nine points.

In the second game, Manoj Chandumal had 17 points, 19 rebounds, and 11 assists, and the Blue Sharks kept the Kings winless with an 84-62 victory, arresting their own losing streak at two.

Ken Pessumal had a breakout game with 16 points and 13 rebounds, while Rahul Motwani produced 14 points.  Rookie Perjinder Sidhu also impressed with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
