/ 01:17 AM October 13, 2014

Keith Bryan Haw, driving a BYD F0, reigned supreme in the Micro Series category of the Circuit Final Showdown at Clark International Speedway in Pampanga recently.

Haw came out on top of a formidable field that included Mark Peter Thomann in a Toyota Wigo and Mackie Cañete in a Suzuki Cappuccino.

Negotiating the challenging track superbly, Haw seized pole position by consistently posting lap times of two minutes and 39 seconds, more than three seconds quicker per lap than the rest of the micro series field.

In a clear indication of his car’s power, Haw zoomed ahead early and was never really troubled on his way to a maiden victory.

What made the win even more impressive was the fact that no modifications were made on the F0 engine except the intake headers exhaust. Under the rules, the Micro Series category could only use 14-inch GT radial street tires and no internal engine modifications can be made as well as for the doors and bumpers.
“I decided on driving a tactical race by being consistent enough to finish in front of them,” Haw said.

Mark Tieng, the BYD Philippines managing director, said the victory was unexpected.

“The BYD F0’s win exceeded all my expectations for the car,” said Tieng. “When we finished second in our maiden outing a few months back, I was elated. With today’s win, I was totally blown away.” Cedelf P. Tupas
