PMMS cagers book Champs League berth

Philippine Merchant Marine School unseated defending champion La Consolacion College-Manila with a clinical 68-38 victory to rule the 6th Inter-Scholastic Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament at the LCCM Gym in Manila.

With the win, the Mariners advanced to the prestigious Champions League featuring the best collegiate teams nationwide.

Powered by Most Valuable Players Raffy Debulcos and Jess Nicole Quilatan, the Mariners swept the best-of-three title series.

“We’re going to train harder and hope to do good against bigger foes,” said former NCAA star and coach Aldrin Morante.

ISAA President Melanie Florentino of FEATI graced the awarding ceremonies. Also present were Pipo Onrubia and Marlon Asuque of PMMS and Raul Santos of Philippine Women’s University, among others.
