Sharks score; Gators oust Kings
MANOJ Chandumal fired 33 points and hauled down 12 rebounds to lead the Blue Sharks past the Warriors, 76-70, last Sunday in the 2014 FIBL Canadian Cup at Ynares Sports Center in Pasig.
Chandumal also had six assists and five steals as the Sharks, who rallied from a 13-point deficit early in the fourth period, avenged their first-round loss to the Warriors.
After Mukesh Mohnani’s triple helped the Warriors erect a 61-48 lead, Chandumal and rookie Rahul Motwani joined hands in a 21-2 salvo that turned the game around.
Article continues after this advertisementMotwani finished with a career-high 21 points while forward Ken Pessumal grabbed a season-high 19 rebounds.
In the second game, the Gators carved out an 83-62 victory over the winless Kings.
The Gators outscored the Kings, 23-11, in the third period and entered the fourth quarter toting a 19-point advantage.

The Kings battle the Warriors at 2 p.m. this Sunday while the Sharks will try to snatch a twice-to-beat advantage against the Warriors at 4 p.m.
