PBA Grand Slam coach Tim Cone has thrown his support behind PCWorx’s “All In” charity event on Nov. 3 as he teams up with former 11-time NBA All Star and former MVP Allen Iverson in a basketball clinic at School of the Holy Spirit in Quezon City.
Former PBA stars and collegiate standouts have already formed a team that will clash with a squad to be coached by Iverson the next day at Mall of Asia Arena.
Proceeds of the benefit game will go to Gawad Kalinga, according to PCWorx managing director Michael Chua.
The Holy Spirit clinic will start at 3 p.m.
“I’m so honored to work with one of the true legends of the NBA,” said Cone, the San Mig Coffee mentor who has won 18 PBA championships, including two grand slams.
“Allen impacted a whole generation with his style and flair. Young people copied the way he played and copied the clothes he wore. He was also one of the great scorers in NBA history despite his height and frame.”
The clinic offers limited slots to trainees 10 to 15 years old for a fee of P2,500. Those interested may call 5751520.
Apart from Cone, other noted PBA personalities who will be joining Iverson are Harvey Carey of Talk ‘N Text, former MVP Willie Miller of Barako Bull, Sol Mercado and Chris Ross of San Miguel Beer and Jayjay Helterbrand of Barangay Ginebra.
