Fronda finishes joint 10th in world junior chess
WOMAN IM Jan Jodilyn Fronda beat Indian Supreetha Potluri in the 13th and final round Sunday to finish with 8.0 points and share 10th place in the World Junior Chess Championship’s girls division in Pune, India. It was the highest finish ever by a Filipino in the event won by Russian WGM Aleksandra Goryachkina (11.0). WIM Janelle Mae Frayna and Marie Antoinette San Diego scored 7.5 and 7.0, respectively.
