Gao shines as CIE paces Jungolf tilt
Wei Wei Gao upstaged Gen Nagai in a thrilling shootout as Centre of International Education built a big lead in the juniors division of the JGFP-ICTSI National Inter-School golf championship at Cebu Country Club recently.
Gao scored 50 points compared to the 49 of the multititled Nagai.
Ryo Haga and Jun Haga delivered 39 and 25 points, respectively, for CIE’s 114 total heading into this Sunday’s final round, also at CCC.

University of San Carlos and Sacred Heart-Ateneo de Cebu were the other leaders in the tournament supported primarily by International Container Terminal Services, Inc. and backed by the Philippine Golf Foundation, Martin Lorenzo, Golf Depot and Inquirer Golf.
USC paced seniors play with 95 while Sacred Heart held a slim lead in the Midgets division.
Article continues after this advertisementHarvey Sytiongsa scored 46, Sir Cross Abarintos Jr. did 39 and Kerwin Sytiongsa had 22 for USC’s 95 points, while Daniel Jed Yap (37), Guilbert Purcia IV (36) and Rusel Rex King (19) accounted for the 92 of Sacred Heart, which led Paref by one.
Gao, Harvey Sytiongsa, Alron Sorino of University of Cebu, Tatsuyoshi Ochiai of Singapore School Cebu and Angela Mangana of Asian College of Technology paced individual play.
