Iloilo hosts Palawan tilt tomorrow

Top junior players and rising stars from Iloilo City and nearby areas have confirmed participation in the Palawan Pawnshop-Palawan Express Pera Padala regional age-group tennis circuit presented by Technifibre which begins tomorrow at Iloilo La Paz Tennis Club.

Organizers and the host club have waived the registration fee, guaranteeing another huge turnout in the six-day tournament sponsored by Palawan Pawnshop and sanctioned by Philta headed by president and Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.

Ranked as Group 2, the tournament is expected to feature players who saw action in the Bacolod and Capiz legs, including Kiana de Asis, Alexzander Fern, Toni Rose Raymundo, Averille Sacapano, Luke Flores, Al Francis Andrade, Louis Anthony Henderin and Anvil Andrea Suace.

“The circuit has grown in participation in the last few legs and we expect another huge turnout this week.” said Palawan Pawnshop COO Bobby Castro. “We believe there’s a lot of talents to be tapped, especially in the countryside, that’s why we’re supporting Philta’s nationwide program to promote and develop the sport.”
