A THREE-WAY partnership for the television broadcast of the NBA games in the country was forged recently among ABS-CBN, the NBA and Solar Entertainment Corp., which is airing for the 14th straight season the world’s premier basketball league.
Under the renewed contract, Solar, through its cable channels BTV and NBA Premium, and ABS-CBN, through its Sports and Action channels, will air more than 30 games every week. The two networks will also continue to broadcast WNBA games.
“Like before, we will continue to provide extensive coverage and promotion of all local NBA events like JR NBA/WNBA and NBA 3X,” said Solar chief Wilson Y. Tieng.
Also present during the contract-signing at NBA Café were William Tieng, NBA Asia managing director Scott Levy, ABS-CBN Narrowcast head March Ventosa and NBA legend Darryl Dawkins.

Only a few days earlier, another broadcast partnership was launched at PICC’s Plenary Hall.
Turner Broadcasting System Asia Pacific and 9 Media Corp. announced the launching of CNN Philippines, which is projected to be operational by the first quarter of 2015.

I could not be happier to welcome CNN Philippines to the CNN family,” said Jeff Zucker, CNN World Wide president.

Former ambassador Tony L. Cabangon Chua is the chair of Nine Media, a news channel which will definitely have a massive dose of sports stories.
