PBA D-League: Wangs rips listless AMA Titans

MANILA, Philippines — Wangs Basketball went on a fiery start to torch newcomer AMA University, 96-78, in the 2015 PBA D-League Aspirants Cup Monday at the Ynares Sports Arena.

Michael Juico scored 18 points for Wangs, which shot 12-of-22 from long distance.

“We got a good result from our hard work. The boys worked hard especially in defense,” said Wangs coach Pablo Lucas, whose squad started the game on a 13-0 run.

Macky Acosta added 15 points while Michael Miranda chipped in 11, seven coming in the first quarter to anchor the early charge.

“My team now is better than our last year’s team. We have a more complete team,” said Lucas.

Lucas was also pleased with his team’s execution. Wangs assisted on 30 of its 33 field goals and turned the ball over just 13 times.

Jesmar Sabangas had 22 points for the Titans, who never led.
