Female boxer dies after bout

PRETORIA, South Africa—South African female boxer Phindile Mwelase has died after being in a coma for two weeks following an Oct. 10 bout where she was knocked out. Her death came after former 800-meter world champion Mbulaeni Mulaudzi was killed in a car crash on Friday and popular national soccer team captain Senzo Meyiwa was fatally shot in a house robbery on Sunday.
