Paul Lee makes up for lost time in return from injury

MANILA, Philippines — After missing a game due to a knee injury, Rain or Shine guard Paul Lee came back like he never left Wednesday.

Lee scored a game-high 22 points on 8-of-11 from the field in only 15 minutes and yet according to him, he is still not in tip-top form in his comeback game from a hyperextended right knee.

“I’m still not feeling a hundred percent. I still favor it when I walk but I don’t feel bothered by it. I just see to it that I don’t re-injure it,” said Lee in Filipino after leading the Elasto Painters’ 117-88 win over the Kia Sorento.

Lee sat out during Rain or Shine’s win over Blackwater last Friday and just participated in team practice on Monday.

“The result of our practices turned out well.”

The 25-year-old Lee also said he was too eager when he entered the court for the first time but got his groove in the second half, where he fired 16 points.

Lee also had a stretch in the fourth quarter where he drained three straight 3-pointers that quashed even the slimmest hopes of a Kia comeback.

“Heat check,” Lee said with a smile when asked what he thought of his performance. “I was hitting my shots and I just continued to shoot and play within the flow of our offense.”
