NLEX forward blames ‘disorganized’ play for loss vs Meralco

MANILA, Philippines—Going out to the court relaxed and disorganized against a shattered opponent proved costly for the NLEX Road Warriors, one of its forwards said.

KG Cañaleta, the lone player to nail a three-pointer for NLEX, said his team’s complacent attitude going into the game put them into a hole that they themselves dug.

“It looked like we were not playing as a team on both ends of the floor,” Cañaleta said after his team lost to the Meralco Bolts, 90-75.

NLEX came off a victory over perennial crowd darlings Ginebra Gin Kings when they faced Meralco which just absorbed a shellacking from the Alaska Aces.

“We let them get started early,” Cañaleta said, whose team shot 1-23 from the three-point area. “We never expected Meralco, we were relaxed, and they were aggressive right from the start.”
