Zubiri, Smith joining Cannonball 1000 run

AFTER gracing the covers of FHM and appearing in countless movie films, actress Diana Zubiri is set to try out a new adventure with host and model Andy Smith as they team up in the car event of the Cannonball 1000 Endurance Run.

The Cannonball 1000, which will wind through 1,000 kilometers of the scenic North Luzon loop in a 24-hour race, is open to all cars and motorcycles with displacements of 301cc and above.

Each car is allowed a driver and a co-driver who can alternate on the wheel. The honor of being “finisher” awaits all participants in the adventure motorsports event organized by six-time endurance champion Joey Almeda.

Cannonball 1000, which is also backed by TA Marketing, Inc., distributor of Ducati Motorcycles in the country, will be flagged off from Widus Hotel and Casino in Clark Field, Pampanga, on the night of Jan. 9 next year.

Participants will pass through the provinces of Nueva Ecija, Isabela, Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Baguio in  Benguet and Tarlac before coming back to Pampanga.

Prominent personalities, such as Xtreme Riders TV show host Danby Henares, seasoned long-distance rider Rene Marquez, and actor Richard Gutierrez have already registered to race.
