Briones bet threatens UFCC event breakaway
Spartans Grego of newspaper executive Rey Briones and partner Greg Gorospe is expected to widen its lead for the Stag Fighter of the Year race as action in the fifth leg of the Ultimate Fighting Cock Championships (UFCC) Blue 6-Stag Derby gets under way today at Pasay Cockpit starting at 3 p.m.
On top with 16.5 points is Spartans Grego Nov. 13 Sta. Monica, followed by EP Roosterville 7-Stag Nov. 28 sa Pasay of Gov. Eddie Bong Plaza, Allan Siaco’s A.S. Jambalaya, Max Roxas’ Paniniqui Max AA ER Ika RJM, and Natividad of Mayor Cesar Dy and Boy Bata, who are all tied at second place with 14.5 points.
The coveted UFCC Blue Stag Fighter of the Year with an P800,000 cash prize is up for grabs in the elite stag wars hosted by the UFCC and held in cooperation with Thunderbird Bexan XP, Resorts World-Manila and Solaire Resorts & Casino.
In third spot with 14 points is Guts & Glory of Alex Tang.
Meanwhile, the UFCC Red Group will clash anew in the sixth leg of the 6-Stag Derby on Nov. 20 also at PCC.
