HORSE racing enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting weekend with the running of the Philracom Juvenile Colts Stakes Race this Sunday at Santa Ana Park in Naic, Cavite.
The fourth and last leg of the Juvenile Colts series is a one-mile race featuring the country’s finest young track champions.
The entries include Alakdan, Apple Du Zap, Cat Express, Heavenly Fields, Icon, Jebel Ali, Karangalan, King of Less, Sky Hook and The Scheduler.
The fourth leg of the series will be held in honor of Santiago Cua, a noted businessman, philanthropist and chair emeritus of the Philippine Racing Club Inc.
Cua has been one of the pillars of the racing industry for the past 20 years.
Sponsored by the Philippine Racing Commission, the race will have a total cash prize of P1.5 million distributed among the first four placers, plus a breeder’s prize of P60,000 to the winning horse.
A companion race, the fourth leg of the Philracom Juvenile Fillies Race, will be run on Saturday, also at Santa Ana Park with similar prize loot and race distance.
Also slated to run at Santa Ana Park on Nov. 21 is the Chair Emeritus Santiago Cua Trophy Race. Sponsored by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, the special race will reward the owner of the winning horse an additional prize of P100,000.
