MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Azkals recovered from an early deficit to defeat Laos, 4-1, for a rousing start in the AFF Suzuki Cup  Saturday  night at the My Dinh Stadium in Hanoi, Vietnam.

Patrick Reichelt provided the last two goals for the Philippines with his first goal coming in the 77th minute and his last in the 88th minute.

Simone Rota delivered the equalizer in the 40th minute after Kampeng Sayavutth gave Laos a 1-0 headstart in the 20th.

Phil Younghusband struck the go-ahead goal, 2-1, just before halftime.

The Philippines clashes with Indonesia next  on Tuesday.
