JUDICIARY drew big games from John Hall and former PBA player Don Camaso to down the Kenneth Duremdes-mentored Senate, 83-75, in the 3rd UNTV Cup Thursday at Makati Coliseum.
The 6-foot-1 Hall, a model, made 9 of his 12 attempts lead the Magis with 24 points aside while Camaso scattered 13 points to help the team spoil the coaching debut of Duremdes.
Ariel Capus, another former PBA player, added 12 points despite a woeful 6-of-15 shooting from the field as the Magis forged an early three-way tie for the lead in Group B with defending champion Armed Forces of the Philippines and Metro Manila Development Authority.
MMDA, on the other hand, got 23 and 22 points from Joether Mallare and Ermel Idria, respectively, to whip GSIS, 87-77.
Malacañang also made its presence felt by outlasting the Bureau of Fire and Protection, 70-65, in Group A.
Standings: Group A—PNP 1-0, Malacañang 1-0, BFP 0-1, DOJ 0-1, HOR 0-0; Group B—AFP 1-0, Judiciary 1-0, MMDA 1-0, Senate 0-1, GSIS 0-1, NHA 0-1
